Project Kickoff Workshop Over 30 people attended the Eden General Plan project kickoff workshop on October 29th, 2002. At the workshop, the consultant team provided an overview of the General Plan process and an initial assessment of the broad issues that should be addressed in the new General Plan. Following the presentation, the public provided comments on the public outreach process and the issues that should addressed in the General Plan. A summary of the public comments can be requested via email by clicking here. Visions, Goals and Needs Workshop About 50 people attended the Vision, Goals and Needs workshop on February 11, 2003. Participants explored their visions for the future of the Eden Area. A summary of the Visioning Exercise can be requested via email by clicking here. Participants met in small groups to discuss goals and needs for each of the Eden neighborhoods. 20 people attended the second existing conditions workshop on Alternatives Development Workshop #1 Over 60 people attended the first of two alternatives development workshops on July 15, 2003. Participants discussed and voted on policy alternatives to address: narrow, deep lots, economic development, streetscape, sidewalks, San Lorenzo Creek, BART Right-of-way and community resources. Workshop attendees also participated in four interactive prioritization exercises ("dot exercises") focusing on: specific uses to support economic development; preferred types of streetscape enhancements; priority locations for sidewalk improvements; and community facilities needed in the Eden Area. here. Alternatives Workbook #1, used by participants during the workshop, can be requested via email by clicking here. Draft Housing Element and General Plan Alternatives Workshops On September 10 and 16, 2003, the Alameda County Community Development Agency (CDA) and their consultants held the sixth and seventh public workshops for the Eden Area General Plan. These were the second and third of three public workshops to develop General Plan alternatives. To facilitate the discussion, the General Plan team distributed “Alternatives Workbook #2” to all participants that presented information on land use alternatives for eight Focus Areas, or areas likely to experience change during the General Plan’s timeframe. EIR Scoping and Land Use Map Meeting - May 27, 2004 On May 27, 2004, the Alameda County Community Development Agency (CDA) and their consultants held a public workshop. Participants at that meeting received an update on the General Plan Process and reviewed the Land Use Designation Map. (A copy of the Land Use Designation Map can be obtained by clicking here.) In addition, the County and consultant team presented the public with information about the environmental review process and participants discussed the issues to be covered in the Environmental Impact Report (EIR).
